EAMES HOUSE OF CARDS

EAMES HOUSE    OF CARDS

In the 1950s, Charles and Ray Eames designed a set of modular cards that are still appreciated today. Each card in the set has a beautifully designed composition on its own, but the real beauty of the cards is revealed when they are arranged together. This exercise in design challenges the designer to create a wide range of assets that come together to form a cohesive system.

My initial inspiration for this "House of Cards" was the poem “The Night Before Christmas” as well as the  joyful emotions felt during the holiday season.

The assets for my final deck are a hybrid of nostalgic charm and modern graphic expression to show a fresh perspective on the holidays. The mix of old and new elements with an unexpected take on the christmas color palette creates a look and feel that is all its own.
